Reflection-1:

The infusion of technology into the 21st century learning and teaching system mirrors a clear demarcation between the traditional teacher-centered and the newly student-centered pedagogical approach. It equips educators with the proper educational ammunition to help their constituents explore real-world issues collaboratively in both face-to-face and virtual environments. Facilitators, known as educators, must understand the importance of integrating technology into their curricula and using digital tools that set in motion an environment conducive to learning. Through collaborative work, facilitators can promote creativity and further take part in the learning process alongside their students to support and promote their innovative ability. A participative role by facilitators allows them to clarify issues that may impede students' understanding and other indicators that inhibit innovative thinking.

Artifact-1:

This Webquest project embodies the standards set forth in Nets-1. It engages students in a virtual collaborative activity that inspires them to reflect on an authentic real-world problem using web 2.0 tools. In this WebQuest, students will imagine that they are planning a trip to Italy. This WebQuest is designed as a cross-curricular activity for Middle and Secondary-level students incorporating Italian Language Class, History, and Mathematics. This Webquest touches on standards 1b through 1d. I was a member of the group that created this Webquest as part of the Educational Technology program requirement at Jersey City University.

Unit Plan-1:

This unit plan is based on research. This artifact is reflective of the content described in 1b because it engages students in exploring real-world issues and solving authentic problems using digital tools and resources. It also covers the required concept established in standard 1c as far as using collaborative tools and activities to showcase their understanding, planning, and creative processes. The webquest requires a virtual trip. That is inherently linked to standard 1d in terms of engaging students in a virtual and face-to-face environments.
